Emmy Awards and Oscar Awards are two of the most prestigious award-giving body in Hollywood. But, the most awaiting event in every awards night is the red carpet. Imagine, in just one night, you’ll be able to witness all the Hollywood Actors and Actresses, wearing those flamboyant dresses, flaunting their bodies and bragging their kudos.
After the grand red carpet, you’ll find an issue from Elle, Vogue and InStyle Magazines, those dresses worn by the famous being. You’ve been, of course, introduced with Gucci, Prada, Valentino, and Monique Lhuiller. Who’s Monique Lhuiller? Is she the owner of M. Lhuiller Pawnshop? Well, no doubt about it. Her family owns ‘em. Although Monique is known for being a fashion design guru in the U.S., she can’t deny the fact that a Filipino-blood lies on her.
Monique Lhuiller was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines. Her fashion instincts are brought by her typical elite fashion of her mom. In the Philippines, those socialites are really fashionable. Job, hobby and leisure are equivalent to Fashion. Monique attended the prestigious Chateau Mont-Choisi boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland. She got married to Tom Bugbee and founded the Monique Lhuillier & Company in 1996 and established the leading bridal couturier. In 1999, the couple swept the industry by launching their evening gowns. And there you have it, she did almost all the evening gowns of the Actresses on the red carpet.
So now, if you gonna watch the Emmy or Oscars Awards, be proud, ‘coz that eminent dresses you’ll witness are made by a Filipino.
