As a videographer who is always trying to improve my art, it saddened me today to learn about the passing away of Academy Award Winning filmmaker Sydney Pollack. His movies were an inspiration to me and he was one of the most well respected directors and producers in Hollywood history.
Among the movies he has directed are They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, The Way We Were, Tootsie, Out of Africa, and The Firm.
His list of producer credits is equally impressive with movies like The Fabulous Baker Boys, Searching for Bobby Fischer, Michael Clayton, and most recently, Recount, the made for HBO movie that recalls the Florida State recount of the 2000 election for the President of the United States.
The world has lost a great talent.
